The Sweetest Sound

Carter has the BEST big boy laugh, and we were lucky enough to catch that big boy laugh tonight - just ignore the weird sounds coming out of his mommy's mouth...ahhh the things we do to get our kids to laugh!

6 Months Old

I can't believe that Carter is 6 months old already. Byron and I talk about how it feels like it took forever for Haylee to make it to 6 months old, and for Carter, we just came home from the hospital with him!

He had his 6 month check up at the Doctor last week. Carter is a growing little man. He weighed in at 18 lbs 6 ozs. - that's 50%. He is 28.5 inches long which is 97%. He is a tall skinny boy like his daddy is.

He did get 5 shots, so he wasn't the happiest toward the end of that appointment. The Dr. says that he is doing well developmentally - and he might be trying to get his first tooth to pop through on the bottom left. Byron and I are hoping that is the case, since Carter goes through about 5 or 6 bibs a day with how much he drools!
He is rolling over from back to front very easily now, so much so that we can assume that he will be on his tummy the second we take our hands away. He hasn't quite mastered how to roll from tummy to back, but he has started to pick that up the last couple of days.
He has been sleeping through the night for the last two weeks (THANK GOD!) Byron and I decided to start getting him to sleep through the night after the January from Hell where we held him basically 24-7. He LOVES bananas (more to come on that in another blog post) and hasn't spit out too many of the new foods that we have had him try. He is a VERY happy baby, and loves girls - no joke, he knows how to flirt! He flirts with the swim instructor at Haylee's swimming lessons.

Enjoy pictures of our little man!

Best Friends....

When I was pregant with Carter, Byron and I talked and prayed a LOT about Haylee and if she would accept this new baby with open and loving arms. We worried that she would be jealous that she had to share her time with a new baby, etc. We are so happy that she loves her baby brother. Some times, Haylee is the only one that can make Carter laugh.

It's funny, Byron was holding Carter the other night in the kitchen, and Haylee started doing "jumping jacks" (really, just jumping up and down trying to open and close the legs - forget about doing the arm movement!) and Carter started big boy laughing so much. It was fantastic! Haylee loved that she could make her little brother laugh, and when the adults try to do jumping jacks, Carter just looks at us as if we are the dumbest things alive!

Enjoy pictures of our two babies....

Like Father Like Daughter

Haylee loves her Daddy and her daddy loves her. Byron has such patience with Haylee it is amazing. He will cook with her, take her into the garage and let her unscrew all of the lug nuts off the jeep, whatever Haylee wants to help Daddy with, he usually lets her. This past weekend it was shoveling the driveway. I managed to get a couple of cute shots of them....
